The third gameday of the inaugural Midlands Premiership took place in Nottingham on the afternoon of 6/11/18.
Stamford White took to the field against Oakham followed by league leaders Chilwell.
Stamford Yellow played Boston followed by Nottingham Bramcote.
Whites started strongly against Oakham but were wasteful in front of goal. Eventually a deflected shot from skipper Taff Lovesey wrong footed the Oakham keeper to open the scoring. The Whites continued to push for more goals but failed to shut down the Oakham man of the match in midfield and the Rutland side levelled the scoring. The pattern of the game continued with Stamford making all the running and eventually the effort was rewarded by a well taken Colin Barrett-Treen goal. Even with this domination Stamford keeper Trevor Oliver was still called upon to make a couple of excellent saves.
Next up were league leaders Chilwell. Despite losing this game 3-0 the match was closer than it appeared and the team can feel aggrieved that they were not given a penalty at 1-0 and also that Chilwell were able to keep their full team on the field as two were on warnings for a blue card, and extremely lucky not to get them.
The Yellows started off their month with a match against our old friends Boston. You probably would've got lousy odd on the result of this one as yet again the teams drew. This time 1-1 with Gary Wildsmith notching the goal.
They followed this with a match against the new league leaders (after GD3) Bramcote a tough game. Despite a spirited perfromance the Yellows went down to a heavy 5-1 defeat with Gary Wildmsith notching another and still on the chase for tournament top goalscorer.
