Final score - 0-0 after extra time. Stamford through 2-1 pens.

Last year’s beaten finalists played host to Stamford Strollers on a glorious sunny day. The 2 teams were well matched and the game was played in an excellent spirit with no players on either side receiving 2 warnings.

Strollers were slow out of the blocks and 2 mistakes in the 1st 10 minutes gave Norwich one on ones with the keeper, Bill Whittle pulling off 2 tremendous saves. Norwich made 3 substitutions after 10 minutes and nearly paid the price as Strollers took complete control and but for 4 outstanding saves could have had the game won. 0-0 HT

The 2nd half was end to end Norwich hitting the post before Strollers did so with just 30 seconds remaining.FT 0-0

Neither side managed to create anything of note in extra time.

So to penalties and more drama. Norwich won the toss and though their 1st effort hit the net it was disallowed as the player took more than the 1 metre allowed. Graham Curry then put Strollers ahead 1-0. Norwich levelled with their 2nd 1-1.Gerry Monaghan then converted 2-1 to Strollers. Bill Whittle then pulled off a great save to deny Norwich so 2-1 on pens to Stamford and on to the National Finals!
