In an evenly contested Final it was Burntwood who struck first half mid way through the 1st half.
Strollers dusted themselves down and fought back with David Kelby equalising with a good finish into the top corner. HT 1-1.
The second half saw Stamford on top but there were few chances for either side. Despite continuing to press Strollers couldn’t make their possession count and were unable to convert their half chances. FT 1-1
There was no extra time and the game went straight to penalties. Unfortunately the penalties hoodoo struck again with Burntwood coming out on top.
So a terrific cup run ended in the worst possible way but great credit to all the players who gave everything to bring the Cup back to Stamford.
