The Reds started well but threw away a two goal lead in the first two games, the first against the eventual winners, Heanor and the second against Scunthorpe United thanks to some sloppy keeping on my part.
This was followed by two wins and another draw before facing Boston in the final game, the winners of this one would take runners up spot.
Poor defending from a corner saw Boston take a 1-0 lead but we fought back to 1-1 and then had few chances to go ahead. Unfortunately Boston knocked one in late to take the game 2-1 and finished as runners-up with the Reds in 3rd.

Another good effort in the afternoon. The key games were the matches against Boston and Long Bennington. Both games were tight but two late goals by Boston as we pushed for an equaliser made the score worse than it deserved.
The game versus Long Bennington was a crack but we were sucker punched. 1-0 up from a well worked corner Long Bennington scored an equaliser in the last minute from a good long shot. Almost with the last kick of the game they got a winner from a soft toe plunk on the half way line that nestled itself in the corner of the net.
Long Bennington eventually won the afternoon league on goal difference from Boston with ourselves sharing third place with Spilsby.
Blacks Results:
W 4-1 v Lincoln City (Paul B x 2, Will B, + o.g. )
L 1-4 v Boston United B (Taff L)
L 1-2 v Long Bennington (Taff L)
W 3-1 v Conningsby (Taff L, Paul B, Will B)
D 2-2 v Spilsby (Kurt G, Will B)
W 2-1 v Gainsborough (Paul B x 2)
