December PDFL

In the morning’s Championship games, Strollers welcomed Matt Elphee to an already strong squad, after his recent 50th birthday. As a result, we had too much firepower for our mid-table opposition today.

In our opener, we beat South Lincs Steelers Reds 5-1 with Matt and Nigel Reeve scoring two each, and Jason Fullman adding the fifth after also hitting the bar twice.

Against previously unbeaten Hampton Utd, we went one better, running out 6-1 winners with goals from Matt (2), JT (2), Nigel and Mike Edwards. As an ex-Hampton player I particularly enjoyed that one.

Squad: Steve Bavage-Crowson (GK), Paul Giffen, JT, Jason Fullman, Mike Edwards, Nigel Reeve, Matt Elphee.

In League One, Strollers Social picked up their first point of the season after a goalless draw with South Lincs Steelers Whites. Jason Fullman (GK) didn’t really have a save to make and Strollers hit the bar and went close on several occasions.

Strollers next opponents were Harborough Hornets Reds and they acquitted themselves well in a 0-1 defeat. Again chances were created with two hitting the post. A good team performance with everyone working hard for each other.

Squad: Jason Fullman (GK), Hingwai Chan, Julie Marsh, Kevin Hay, Chris Sweeney, Rich Cartwright.
