Another good day at the office for Strollers 65s with 2 5-0 wins!
First up was the top of the table clash vs Bramcote.Stamford were on top in the 1st half but Bramcote’s 2 tricky forwards were keeping Strollers defence on their toes.The breakthrough came midway through the half and 1-0 at half time. Strollers added a 2nd within a minute of the restart and with Bramcote seeming to lose heart it became a very comfortable 5-0 win for the league leaders. Goals shared between Nic Poletti 2 Gerry Monaghan 2 and Will Barrett 1.

The 2nd game against Oakham saw Strollers play some fine football with crisp passing and some great one touch football with lots of excellent movement. Nic Poletti and Gerry Monaghan tore Oakham apart with Nic scoring 4 Gerry 1 and Gerry providing 4 assists.

It was good to have Graham Curry back after injury and with John Hutchins Will Barrett and Chris Keirl as solid as ever in defence they ensured Bill Whittle’s workload in goal was kept to a minimum.
2 more clean sheets for Bill who still made a few important saves meant Strollers maintained their 100% record and with other teams faltering they now have an 8 point lead at the top of the table. So 2 more wins from their last 4 games will make Strollers Champions for the 2nd year running.
