65+ Bow Out of WFA National Cup

Despite a strong effort to fight back in the second half against Sleaford, our Strollers 65+ lads bowed out of the cup at the first hurdle.

Facing a very strong Sleaford team and in a game played in blustery conditions, we found ourselves 0-2 down at half time but with the wind at our backs in the second half.

Sleaford struck quickly however to go 3-0 up but we then started to get more of a foothold in the game and pulled one back when Tim Marsden tucked one into the corner.

There was then a period where both teams had chances to score, but despite our efforts, we were unable to draw any close. THe scoreline widened in the last minute with two very late goals from Sleaford which makes the scoreline look a wider gilf than there actually was on the day.

Sleaford worthy winners of the game 5-1 and we wish them every success on their way to hopefully winning the cup this time around.
