An excellent match day for our 65+ squad at Derby Racecourse, taking maximum points from our two games.
Strollers 3:1 Hucknall
Jez Norris opened the scoring for Strollers following up after a shot from Paul Humphries was saved.
Despite Strollers enjoying the bulk of the possession and territory, it was Hucknall who scored next to equaliser, when confusion in our defence left a player wide open on the edge of the area.
Undeterred, Strollers continued to dominate the ball and Humphries put us 2-1.
The game was wrapped up after a good move led to Frank Smith notching our third.
Strollers 2:0 Bramcote
Strollers continued their good form as we faced Bramcote, one place above us in the table.
Taff Lovesey opened the scoring with a fierce shot , latching on to a precision pass from Norris.
We continued to play our passing football and on the rare occasions that Bramcote broke away, they found defenders Tony Laughton and Tim Marsden resolute and difficult to beat. A nod to Trevor Oliver too who was rarely called into action but did well when he was.
The second goal came from a short dribble and finish by Norris, ensuring all three points were ours.
