It was another ding dong affair over at Boston's PRSA today as the Strollers took on our local neighbours in a friendly match.
Boston started strongly with the Strollers taking time to adjust to the tight pitch and sailed into a 2-0 lead before Gary Wildsmith scored a brace to level things up.
Playing 4 periods of 15 minutes the game continued to move quickly and loose play in the centre allowed Boston back in for a third goal.
Stamford bounced back again with a well take distance shot from Steve Gates to tie it at 3-3.
Boston then took control again and went ahead from a well take goal from a corner before notching a 5th to move two goals ahead once more.
Stamford continued to press and pulled it back to oen goal again with a neat finish from Scott Swaers, particulalry well take as he was off balance at the time.
Despite pushing for an equaliser the Bsoton keepers, who had thwarted many attempts during the game, proved tough to beat and the game finished 5-4 to the home team.
An excellent, enjoyable gae played in fantastic spirit and a testament to what walking fdootball is truly all about.
Our thanks to the Boston lads for the game and for their hospitality in the bar afterwards.
