The 1st game was against our good friends from Oakham.This was a tight game until Stamford struck with 2 goals through Bob Wood and Chris Keirl in the closing minutes of the 1st half. In the 2nd period Stamford managed the game well giving their opponents very few opportunities and seeing the game out for a 2-0 win.

Boston 0 Stamford 3

The 2nd game was against our rivals from Boston. Not much between the sides in the 1st half but it was Gerry Monaghan who broke the deadlock for a 1-0 half time lead. In the 2nd half Stamford took control playing some lovely fluid football and further goals came from Will Barrett and Gerry Monaghan to give Strollers a deserved 3-0 win.

A good all round team performance with John Hutchins leading the side well and special mention to Nic Poletti and Tony Fisher who both played excellently on their debuts.
