An uncharacteristic patchy performance from our 60+ lads today saw us go down 0-3 to a lively Huntingdon team in the National Cup.
The Strollers started the game strongly but seemed to lose their way a little after Huntingdon scored first. It was a 'bad day at the office' after that, with loose passing and sliced shots allowing our opponents to take control and score a second.
The lads did start to compete better in the second half but at 2-0 down were chasing the game a little and Huntingdon killed the game off with an excellent solo goal from Paul Marks.
At the end of the game I know our lads were disappointed with the way they played. We've all had those days where the ball just doesn't seem to roll for you! Heads up guys and we'll pick up the winning ways in the next 60+ game.
My thanks to the players of both squads for their time and participation and especially to the referee, Malcolm Mackenzie who was excellent.
Squad: Ian Cooke, Colin Kirby, Brian Dunkerley, Peter Crane, Bob Lear, Trevor Oliver, Will Barrett, Dave Barry
