Boston came to Borderville with fire in their bellies and a strong team romped home with ease against a weakened Stamford Stroller XI.
As Norwich had to pull out due to insufficient players, the game was played with four quarters of 15 minutes each, due to the heat and to allow players to take on water.
Boston galloped into a 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes against a very disorganised Stamford outfit but our lads did get themselves together to make more of a game of it from that point forward. Simply put though Boston were just too strong for us to compete with on the day and we rarely troubled them as tyey steadily added to their lead through the remaining quarters. Stamford did get a consolation goal late in the 4th period after a mazey run (sorry walk!) by Gary Wildsmith!
Our thanks to Ian Baxter for refereeing - another fine job done too.
